Provider Impact

Provider changes are public. Your exposure is private.

AI Provider Watch tracks pricing, quota, model, subscription, and status changes. Ottto matches reviewed events to evidence from your tools, plans, models, and accounts—so you know what deserves review.

Reviewed · public APW repository record

Anthropic · model retirement

Claude Sonnet 4 and Opus 4 API model IDs were retired.

Public fact → private relevance

Establish the change. Test the match. Keep the decision yours.

A reviewed public record establishes the provider fact. Ottto adds a private match and bounded next step only when your connected evidence supports the link.

  1. 01

    Watch official sources

Monitor pricing pages, changelogs, release notes, status feeds, and selected provider announcements.

  2. 02

    Preserve the evidence

Record source authority, confidence, observation and effective times, impact type, and known limitations.

  3. 03

    Test private relevance

Compare the event scope with the provider, app, model, plan, account, and evidence Ottto can see.

  4. 04

    Suggest a review

Point to the relevant cost, quota, provider-status, or official-source view. The operator decides what to do.

Reviewed APW example

Change date, observation time, and action are not the same thing.

Provider Impact keeps when a change was announced, when it took effect, and when APW observed it distinct. Suggested action remains a separate operator review.

Provider change took effect

Anthropic’s release notes record the API model retirement and say requests to the retired IDs return errors.

APW observed and reviewed it

AI Provider Watch recorded the official source metadata and retained a content fingerprint in the reviewed repository record.

Suggested operator review

Check for pinned model IDs

If these IDs appear in applications, gateways, allowlists, or eval fixtures, review migration to a supported successor before retrying failed requests.

Trust model

Know what is reviewed, what is provisional, and what is yours.

The reviewed repository, the faster provisional feed, and private matched evidence answer different questions. Ottto labels each one before you act.

Private evidence matching

Public coverage. Private relevance.

Ottto narrows reviewed events to the tools, plans, models, and accounts supported by your connected evidence. No evidence match means no personal-impact claim.

  • Provider and affected product scope must line up.
  • App, model, or plan must appear in connected evidence.
  • Matched account scope and evidence freshness stay visible.
  • The public source record remains available for review.

Evidence-backed follow-up

A provider change is useful when it leads to the right check.

Each event type supports a different response. Ottto shows only the timing, state, and impact the available evidence can support.

Quota reset verification

User-scoped quota and current-source evidence can move a reset through three explicit states—without treating an expected reset as confirmed.

AwaitingConfirmedExpired unconfirmed

Scheduled price change

When an effective date is known, advance notice stays distinct from an in-effect state. Cost views use the applicable date-windowed catalog rates.

Model lifecycle

Retirements, availability changes, and defaults can be matched to active tools when connected evidence supports the link.

Incident and status

When a provider incident is relevant, the review path leads to the provider’s human-readable status page—not a raw machine feed.

Illustrative follow-up types. Not every event produces every state, and dollar impact appears only when applicable rate and usage evidence support it.

Provider Impact → Advisor

Provider facts become context—not commands.

Reviewed Provider Impact records can enter the Advisor’s bounded knowledge context. When private evidence supports relevance, the Advisor can explain the connection and suggest what to inspect; you decide what to change.

Scope and limits

What the evidence means—and what it does not.

Does a public provider event mean it affects me?

No. A public record establishes a provider fact. Personal relevance requires a separate private match to evidence from your tools, plans, models, or accounts.

Which AI Provider Watch feed is reviewed?

The repository feed contains reviewed public records. The 15-minute live feed is provisional; its candidates may later be promoted, corrected, or retracted.

What does a private match prove?

Only that available user-scoped evidence connects the event to the displayed tool, plan, model, or account. It does not prove a dollar impact or prescribe the same action for every user.

How does quota reset confirmation work?

Ottto uses user-scoped current quota and source evidence. A reset stays Awaiting until evidence confirms it; otherwise it can become Expired unconfirmed.

Are dollar impact and next steps guaranteed?

No. Dollar impact appears only when the applicable rate and usage evidence support the calculation. Suggested reviews are contextual prompts, not universal recommendations.
